Apple Announces iPad 2

Apple's iPad made a pretty big splash when it hit the market last year (15M sold in 2010). It arguably brought tablets to the mainstream consumer market despite claims from many that it was nothing more than a large iPhone/iPod touch. In Hours Before iPad 2 Event, Apple Store is Down

It’s coming. The iPad 2, as you’re probably aware, will be announced at a special event today at 10 a.m. PT, and the Apple Store has just gone offline in preparation for one of the biggest product launches of the year. When the store comes back online, which should be shortly after the announcement, it will be showing off a shiny, new iPad, and we’ll be there every step of the way.
