Dynamic Folding of Clothes Using High-Speed Robot

Ruji Yamakawa, Akio Namiki, and Masatoshi Ishikawa of the University of Tokyo and Chiba University created a robot which can fold clothes very fast. The average folding time of this robot is 0.4 seconds with 80% of success rate. The main reason of creation of this robot is the dynamic folding of clothes.

In process of folding the arms of the robot are slide towards backward to throw the lower part of cloth in the air and then catch it. It is a nice add in the collection of robots used at domestic level. Check out the demo below:
